Your repayment is due on the 1st day of every month.
If you do not pay your mortgage for more than 30 days after it was due, you will be sent a notice asking you to pay no later than 15 days from the date the notice was sent.
If you are in arrears for more than 60 days, you will be sent a second notice requiring you to respond no later than 7 days from the date the notice was sent.
If your account remains in arrears for 90 days or more, without an acceptable response from you, the NHT may recover the outstanding amount through external debt collection services, by public auction, Private Treaty sale or by other legal means.
Mortgagors are encouraged to contact us and make special arrangements if they are experiencing difficulties, in an effort to avoid having their property sold. If you have lost your job or suffer ill health leading to a reduction in your income, we may be able to help, but you must contact us within 30 days of your job loss or illness to be eligible.
